Frank Mazzetti III

Councilman Frank Mazzetti, III, is not just a resident of the Rincon Reservation but a part of its core. His interactions with tribal elders and neighbors have fostered a profound appreciation and respect for the warmth and support of his community members, both past and present. Born into the family of Tribal Member Frank Mazzetti, Jr., and Anita Mazzetti, Councilman Mazzetti’s roots are intertwined with the community. His commitment is further exemplified by his wife, Lorena Mazzetti, and their children, who have been a constant source of support in his journey as a Rincon Council member. His children are:

Loraine Mazzetti (23), a UCLA graduate in Political Sciences and Indian Studies,

Isabella Mazzetti (21), a Music Studies student at SDSU, and

Frank Mazzetti, IV (19), who is studying Fermentation at Mesa College

His family is committed to achieving their education and are working to enhance Rincon’s community through what they have learned in school. The support of his relatives, from siblings to cousins, was instrumental in his run for office, and his re-election experience has brought him closer to his family – instilling a legacy for his children, as they are community members within the band. Councilman Mazzetti’s hobbies include golfing, fishing, and winemaking – the latter of which he has transformed from a pastime into a business by opening his local vineyard. Mazzetti, III, a business enthusiast, has consistently put his entrepreneurial spirit into action, furthering economic development within the reservation. His educational and eventual business journey began with his high school graduation in 1980, followed by studies at Palomar College, where he earned an Architectural Certification. Councilman Frank Mazzetti established the Mazzetti’s Feed Store, which later evolved into a mini-mart and gas station. The feed store served the community’s needs and became a local business foundation, highlighting his ability to adapt and grow in response to changing demands. His early career also included working at California’s first Bingo Hall on the Rincon Reservation from 1982 to 1986. Elected to the Rincon Tribal Council in late 2011, Frank served until the end of 2013, bringing his business expertise and community-focused vision to the forefront of his time in office. From 2015 to 2024, he was a vital member of the Rincon Economic Development Corporation (REDCO), where he played a pivotal role in establishing significant enterprises such as the 3R Brewery, the Rincon Tribal Plaza, Agrusa’s Super Sandwiches, and a tasting room. His initiatives have boosted Rincon’s enterprises while providing cultural enrichment and employment opportunities for tribal members. Frank also had a hand in Mazzetti’s Gift Shop, which is not only a local business but also deals in the cultural preservation of Native American products.

Recently re-elected to the Rincon Tribal Council, Councilman Mazzetti remains deeply involved in tribal issues and concerns. “I am very excited and proud to serve the people of Rincon as your elected official,” he stated. “It is a tremendous honor and responsibility to represent our community. I am committed to working tirelessly to address our needs, uphold our values, and enhance the quality of life for all our members. We will strive for progress, unity, and a brighter future.” Councilman Mazzetti, III, aims to develop assistance for the tribal youth and elders, one such example is secondary health insurance to promote at-home care for elderly members, which he hopes will ensure they receive adequate support and care as they continue forward into their advanced years. His vision for a sustainable future encompasses economic growth and the well-being of the community’s most vulnerable members. Councilman Mazzetti is actively catching up on current tribal affairs and stepping into his role by attending conferences focusing on tribal interests. His experience and dedication have strengthened his bond with his family and community, creating a lasting legacy for future generations. His leadership style, marked by quiet determination and a deep commitment to his people, ensures that the Rincon Reservation will thrive while respecting its rich cultural heritage.
