Community Sponsorships and Contributions

In keeping with the tribal tradition of sharing, the Rincon Community Contribution Committee was created by the Rincon Tribal Council to identify, review and fund services and programs that enhance the quality of life in San Diego County. Since the philanthropy program was instituted in 2007-2008, the Rincon Band has funded more than 600 non-profits and public agency requests.

The Committee welcomes requests that benefit children, youth, families, the military and seniors. Funding categories include, but are not limited to, health and nutrition, environment and conservation, the arts, and specialized education and recreation programs. In addition, the Committee funds sponsorships for organizations involved in specific fundraising goals, and events that promote a positive community experience; holiday celebrations, and recognize communities of common interest.

Only requests by not-for-profits with tax ID numbers and public agencies are accepted. Requests by individuals and private commercial interests do not qualify for consideration.  Proposing optional contribution or sponsorship levels increases the possibility for selection. Typically, the Committee tries to fund as many requests as possible, and receives more requests than can be met within the yearly budget.

Reapplication is encouraged in the next funding cycle. Applications must be in writing and directed to:
