Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Rincon Fire Department to provide all risk services to protect the lives, property and environment of the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians and nearby communities. These services include a professional, and highly trained and equipped force that responds to fires and provides advanced life support, pre-hospital emergency care, ambulance transportation and disaster management which are designed to improve as well as maintain the quality of life for all members and visitors of Rincon.

Who We Are

Composed of 31 dedicated men and women, the Rincon Fire Department is an all-hazard, full-service agency. We proudly provide fire protection, medical aid, rescue, specialized response, and a variety of other services to the public. Formed in 2006, the Rincon Fire Department proudly boasts an ISO Class 2 Rating.

Who We Serve

We serve more than the members, guests and employees of the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians. We are part of the San Diego County North Zone, which spans from the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Borrego Springs desert area to the east.

What We Do

Rincon Fire Department’s services are built around our mission of anticipating and responding to the dynamic public safety needs of our diverse community. This includes prevention and education, response and communication.

Prevention And Education

Providing safety involves planning, prevention and education to ensure that our citizens and communities can protect their homes, property and businesses against fire. A thorough knowledge of risk mitigation and fire prevention techniques allow Rincon Fire Department to build a foundation of safe practices through historical successes. Rincon Fire Department employs multiple fire prevention, education and safety programs and practices for children, adults and seniors. This includes fire code and regulation enforcement, plan reviews, business inspections, fire code, and an award-winning, nationally recognized Wildfire Mitigation Program.

Response:

Rincon Fire Department responds to calls from a single strategically placed fire station located in our community. Our firefighters are trained to provide the highest level of firefighting, rescue and emergency medical care. In addition to fighting fires, we respond to medical emergencies, traffic accidents, land and water rescues, hazardous materials calls, environmental hazards, and a variety of public service requests. In 2018, Rincon Fire Department responded to more than 2400 incidents.

Communication:

Rincon Fire Department makes it a priority to communicate with the public through its public information office, which ensures that information is disseminated to the public for educational purposes and during emergencies which help people determine how to protect their homes, property and businesses against fire.
