Covid-19 Forces Cancellation of Fireworks and Fiesta

The Tribal Council has made the decision to cancel the 4th of July fireworks and the annual fiesta due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Council reached its decision in an effort to comply with the California Department of Public Health,” said Council member Alfonso Kolb, Sr. “We are concerned about the health, safety and well-being of reservation residents as well as the general public who attend these summer events.”

Council member Kolb concluded, “We regret having to make this decision, but I’m sure everyone will understand that it was necessary. Hopefully the pandemic will dissipate soon and we can then look forward to the fireworks and fiesta next year.”

We understand how disappointing this is but we must do it in order to keep the community safe from the spread of the virus.
