Seventh Annual “All-in 4 Change” Event Raises Funds for Local Charities
FUNNER, Calif. (September 30, 2022) – Today, Harrah’s Resort Southern California hosted its seventh annual “All-in 4 Change” luncheon, awarding $150,000 in grants to some of Southern California’s most deserving non-profit organizations. The “All-in 4 Change” charitable program was created in 2015 to showcase the resort’s pride for, and commitment to, its community.
“On behalf of the Rincon Tribe, we are honored to partner with Harrah’s Resort Southern California to continue to support those in our community,” stated Bo Mazzetti, Chairman of the Rincon Tribe. “If we can play a small role when it comes to positively impacting someone’s life through the help of our local nonprofits, then we know that we’re doing exactly what we need to do.”
In addition to the $150,000 in grants from Harrah’s Resort SoCal, the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians has also generously awarded an additional $75,000 to three deserving nonprofit organizations today; $40,000 was donated to Final Honor, $25,000 to ResQue Ranch and $10,000 to Burn Institute.
Harrah’s Resort SoCal continues to share its financial success by donating a portion of its profits to the local community and charitable causes. Since opening its doors in 2002, the resort has donated more than $5 million in cash and in-kind gifts to community and charitable organizations, as part of their ongoing commitment to giving back.
“Giving back is one of our strongest values here at Harrah’s Resort Southern California,” said Jill Barrett, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Resort Southern California. “It’s in our DNA to lift up those in our community that are in need and we could not be more grateful to have the resources and abilities to keep the ripple effect in motion — to give back to those who in turn, give back.”
In July, non-profits from San Diego, Riverside and Orange Counties were invited to apply for the program. Applications were carefully reviewed by the judging committee in early August and eligible applicants were informed that they made it to the next stage of the competition. Community members were encouraged to vote for their favorite non-profits amongst the group of finalists. When the polls closed on Aug. 30, community votes accounted for 50 percent of the overall score to win a grant, while the remaining 50 percent of the score was determined by a carefully selected committee at Harrah’s Resort Southern California. Winners were announced at the “All-In 4 Change” luncheon, with the grant allocations and awards as follows:
This year’s first-place winner, Feeding San Diego, is the leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization in San Diego County and the only Feeding America member in the region. They work to provide more than 35 million meals every year to children, families, seniors, college students, military families, veterans, people facing homelessness, and other underserved populations. They partner with more than 600 food donors in San Diego County and over 225 farms and packing sheds throughout California to rescue high-quality food before it goes to waste, and distribute meals in partnership with 370 local charities, schools, faith communities, meal sites, and food pantries throughout the region. In addition to rescuing and distributing high-quality food, Feeding San Diego helps individuals enroll in CalFresh (formerly known as food stamps) to help those in need purchase groceries for their families.
Last year, Harrah’s Resort SoCal awarded $100,000 in grants and honorees including TransFamily Support Service, Helen Woodward Animal Center and Support the Enlisted Project, to name a few.

The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians has received a grant from the Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS) funded through the Tribal Heritage Grant program, Historic Preservation Fund. The grant is for the survey and inventory of Adobe and Wámkish sites, which are the tribe’s cultural areas on the Rincon Indian Reservation.
“This funding will allow us to assess and evaluate cultural sites for listing eligibility on the National Register of Historic Places,” stated Chairman Bo Mazzetti of the Rincon Tribe. “It is our responsibility as a people to protect and preserve the history and culture for our future generations. “
With these funds, organizations and agencies conserve significant U.S. cultural and historic resources, which illustrate, interpret, and are associated with the great events, ideas, and individuals that contribute to our nation’s history and culture.
“It is so important as tribes move forward, that they preserve the past,” stated Councilmember Laurie Gonzalez of the Rincon Tribe. “This grant gives us the ability to protect our sites so that we may link our future generations to the past generations and give them a real and deep appreciation of where we started, and how far we’ve come.”

Valley Center, CA… The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians announced today that they will be offering the Covid-19 Vaccine to all Government employees, Harrah’s Resort SoCal employees and tribal members on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 7:00am – 3:00pm at the Rincon Government Center located at One Government Center Lane in Valley Center.
“It is our continued goal to protect the health and safety of all of our employees and our tribal people,” stated Chairman Bo Mazzetti of the Rincon Tribe. “We are encouraging all of our employees and tribal members to receive the vaccine to ensure their health and well-being. We are committed to our employees and strongly believe it is our responsibility to establish a safe working environment.”
“A pillar in the San Diego community, the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians continue to support and stand behind our team and our extended family at Harrah’s Resort SoCal, as they have throughout the pandemic,” said Robert Livingston General Manager of Harrah’s Resort SoCal. “The Tribe continues to champion the health and prosperity of Funner, California, and this community vaccination initiative is just one more example of that dedication to our community. We hope this significant step brings us one leap closer to being able to return to pre-Covid operations.”
UC San Diego Health will be administering vaccines to all interested employees over the age of 18. Strong confidence in vaccines within communities leads to more people getting vaccinated, which leads to fewer Covid- illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths. “Whoever thought a little virus would teach us humility? Whoever thought a little virus would show us how much we will miss our loved ones? Whoever thought a little virus would teach us how much we would miss our way of life prior to the pandemic? Whoever thought a little virus would highlight the inequality of the populations impacted by this pandemic? Whoever thought a little virus would teach us that collaboration and teamwork are the only way to beat it? Whoever thought a village could accomplish so much against this invisible foe? These community partnerships like the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians and UC San Diego Health is the village to take the steps back to some sense of normal,” expressed Lydia Ikeda, Sr. Director, COVID Operations for UCSD Health.
“Rincon was the first tribe in California to work with local county officials to develop a Memorandum of Understanding early in the pandemic and we continue to help in turning the curve by offering the vaccination clinic,” said Vice Chair Tishmall Turner of the Rincon Tribe. “We are thankful to the partnership with UCSD Health to be able to offer the clinic onsite.”

First of its kind in the State of CA
Valley Center, CA… The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians and the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians will celebrate the unveiling of the first Inter-Tribal Ambulance Service on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Rincon Fire Station located at 33485 Valley Center Road in San Diego County.
Inter-tribal Ambulance Service (IAS) is the first of its kind in the State of California where two Tribal Governments have worked together to provide enhanced paramedic level of care and ambulance service as a joint venture. As things progress, benchmarks and evaluations will take into account the ability and the opportunity to expand services to other reservations and areas within the County of San Diego.
“We cannot be more excited to be celebrating our partnership with San Pasqual which will serve and benefit our tribal members and our surrounding communities,” stated Bo Mazzetti, Chairman of the Rincon Tribe. “Having our own ambulance service means faster response times, saving more lives and high quality care for our tribal people and neighbors. This is a win- win for all.”
The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians and the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians entered into an agreement to establish a jointly owned and operated Advanced Life Support Paramedic Ambulance Service. The two tribes worked together to establish and operate a fully functional Rescue-Ambulance staffed 24/7 with full-time Career Firefighter Paramedics who will provide the highest level of all risk care and service. Staffing with fulltime dual function Firefighters and Firefighter Paramedics enhance the ability to provide high level quality advanced life support measures to those who live, work and play in both communities. Additionally, the unit will be dispatched by the state- of- the-art fire communication center (North Comm JPA) which will have the ability to track and communicate vital information to responders through an advanced Computer Aided Dispatch System and Advanced Vehicle Location Systems.
“This joint venture will allow the tribes to provide dedicated ambulance services to its Tribal Members and reservation residents with increased responsiveness to their emergency and medical needs,” expressed Chairman Steve Cope of the San Pasqual Tribe. “We applaud this action where tribes are working together using their skills and resources for the betterment and increased safety of their people.”
“Having our own advanced life support ambulance allows us better coordination and control over our own assets,” said Chief Ed Hadfield of the Rincon Fire Department. “While we operate with surrounding agencies, providing the highest level of service, coordination and control of our own assets places our communities as a priority.”
The Rincon Fire Department will oversee the day-to-day staffing and operations. Having a rescue ambulance staffed with Firefighter Paramedics dedicated to serving the two communities is critical to advanced care. At no cost to taxpayers, Rincon’s public safety operations respond to emergencies in the neighboring communities, with more than a majority of calls generating outside of the Reservation.

New Study Shows the Rincon Tribe Drives Regional Economy
Valley Center, CA… A new Economic Impact Study reveals Rincon’s tremendous positive impact across southern California and throughout San Diego County.
In 2018, Rincon generated more than $350 million in total economic output, supporting nearly 3,500 jobs and providing an additional $20 million in tax revenue.

“This study confirms we’re providing great value to our people, our local communities and all Californians,” said Rincon Tribal Chairman Bo Mazzetti. “Indian gaming provides a solid foundation for mutual value, and we will continue to build on proven success that reflects our core values of vision, unity and perseverance.”
The Tribe has also invested heavily to support diverse organizations and charities whose goals include comprehensive healthcare, preserving San Diego’s resources and assisting military veterans. In total, the Tribe donated over $860,000 to more than 60 worthy causes in 2018.
The economic engine driving this explosive growth is Harrah’s Resort Southern California, owned by the Tribe and operated by Caesars Entertainment Corporation on Tribal lands.
“The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians is thriving, and this report underscores the critical impact we continue to make by generating good paying jobs, impressive economic activity and major tax revenue,” added Rincon Vice Chair Tishmall Turner. “We look forward to continued growth and cooperation that benefit all Californians.”
The study was conducted by Beacon Economics, an independent research and consulting firm, to analyze the economic and fiscal contributions The Tribe makes to California, San Diego and, specifically, the 49th, 50th and 52nd Congressional districts.
2018 economic outputs in the 49th, 50th and 52nd Congressional districts were $179.7 million, $88.3 million and $12.6 million respectively. More information can be found at: www.rincon-nsn.gov
